About gscan2pdf
gscan2pdf turns scanned pages into digital documents. It can control regular scanners and automatic document feeders, scan multiple pages, and display the results as page thumbnails. Users can crop, rotate, or remove pages before saving all or selected pages. The application supports output as PDF or DjVu, with metadata when needed, as well as multipage TIFF and single-page image files. Optical character recognition (OCR) can recognize text in scans and embed that text in a PDF or DjVu, making the resulting document searchable. The scanning workflow is designed to combine capture, page selection, basic cleanup, text recognition, and document export in one graphical application. Scanner access is provided through SANE-compatible tools and bindings.
