About Hash Droid
Hash Droid calculates checksums for text or files on an Android device. Users can enter a string or select a file from internal or external storage, then compute a digest using a range of algorithms including SHA-256, SHA-512, SHA-1, MD5, CRC-32, and others. For files, the app also displays the file size and last-modified date. A calculated value can be copied to the clipboard or compared with another hash. This helps users check whether a file matches a known checksum or compare two digest values directly. Hash Droid can be used with downloaded files or system images when verifying that the contents match an expected value. The app calculates digests; it does not repair or certify a file. A matching checksum is useful only when the expected value comes from a trustworthy source and uses the same algorithm. The supplied description lists older and newer hash functions, so users should select an algorithm appropriate to their verification needs.
