About Location Share
Location Share is an Android app for obtaining and deliberately sharing a device’s current location. After opening it, the user waits for the device to determine where it is. The result can then be viewed on a map, shared, or copied to the clipboard. This gives the user a short, explicit sequence: get a location fix, inspect it if needed, and choose what to do with it. Sharing works through applications that accept plain text, including messaging, email, social networking, and note-taking apps. The app does not require an account, and its description says it does not track location in the background or share it automatically. Location is sent only through an application the user chooses to share with. This makes Location Share useful for sending a current position when asked, while keeping the action under the user’s control. The available description focuses on the current location and does not describe continuous tracking, saved routes, or live location sharing over time.
