About Network Tester
Network Tester checks whether a Wi-Fi connection reaches the actual internet or redirects the device to a sign-in or payment portal. It downloads a small test file and verifies its contents, then reports whether the expected internet connection is available. This can help distinguish a working hotspot from one that requires browser-based authentication or payment before normal access is granted. The test is intentionally small and focused on validating connectivity, rather than measuring speed or diagnosing individual network devices. Its result answers a practical question when joining public or unfamiliar Wi-Fi: can the connection reach the web, or is the device still behind an access portal?
