About Oblivion
Oblivion can lock and wipe an Android device when a configured trigger occurs. Triggers include a Quick Settings panic tile, a remote message containing a secret code, or the device not being unlocked for a configurable period. The listed action is a factory reset that wipes the device. Oblivion uses Android’s Device Administration API and is described as supporting GrapheneOS. It is intended for situations such as losing control of a device or leaving it unattended. The app does not function in Safe Mode. The supplied description warns that only an encrypted, password-protected device can ensure wiped data cannot be recovered. Oblivion’s wipe action is therefore not itself a substitute for device encryption. Its behavior depends on configured triggers and device administrator access, and the Safe Mode limitation is important when understanding when it can respond.
