About openScale sync

openScale sync is a companion app that transfers measurements to and from openScale. It does not maintain its own measurement database; instead, it reads data from openScale and synchronizes it with external services the user enables and configures. Each service can be set to export only, import only, or synchronize in both directions. Synchronization can run when measurements are added, edited, deleted, or cleared. Users can also start a full sync manually or enable periodic background reconciliation. Failed transfers are retried, and the app indicates measurements that are still waiting to sync. It supports several kinds of health, workout, database, webhook, and MQTT endpoints, including multi-user handling for some of them. The app requires openScale to be installed and configured. Measurements are sent only to services that the user enables and sets up. Background synchronization uses a foreground service only when needed, and users can disable individual connections. This makes openScale sync a data bridge whose privacy and availability depend on the destinations chosen by the user.
