About Peruse

Peruse is a tool for creating digital comic books, including books designed with interactive navigation and embedded reference information. The described book format can combine traditional page-based reading with frame-based navigation, character and location notes, embedded typesetting, and rich-text overlays. Those overlays can support translated text without requiring a separate image for every language. Peruse Creator provides a way to build these books and supports comic-book archives in CBZ, CBR, CB7, CBT, and CBA formats. The combination of page and frame navigation, embedded reference material, and overlays supports richer comic layouts while keeping book content and supplementary information together. This keeps supplementary content with the comic.
