About Phylax
Phylax is an Android viewer for a self-hosted Frigate network video recorder. It can switch between internal and external server addresses based on the current Wi-Fi network, and send background notifications with snapshot thumbnails. Notifications can be filtered by camera, zone, or severity, and open the relevant review or explore view. The app can display system and detector statistics, camera frame rates, connection status, and a live latency graph. Phylax supports two-way talk for doorbell and intercom cameras and can download clips and snapshots. Credentials are stored in encrypted local storage, and the app is described as having no account, cloud service, or analytics. It requires a compatible Frigate server; the supported functions vary by server version, with notifications and statistics having different compatibility ranges. Phylax is a remote viewing and alerting client rather than a recorder or standalone camera system.
