About Rumble

Rumble is an off-the-grid microblogging app for sharing text and images with people nearby. Devices can connect and exchange posts over local wireless connections, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, while information can also spread as people move between places. The system is designed to work without internet access, so communities can communicate when a normal connection is unavailable or when they prefer a local network. Rather than relying on a central online service, Rumble uses nearby devices and the movement of people to carry information. This makes it suited to local conversations and community updates that need to travel across a group over time. Its delay-tolerant approach means messages do not have to reach every participant immediately; they can propagate as devices encounter one another. The app’s described content types are text and images.
