About SCID
SCID is a chess database application for storing, organizing, and searching large collections of chess games. It includes chess engines for playing against the computer and analyzing positions, and supports engines compatible with the Xboard or UCI interfaces. This lets users work with different analysis engines rather than relying on a single built-in option. The application displays graphical trends and can produce printable reports about players and openings. It also supports online play through the Free Internet Chess Server and can use endgame tablebases for studying positions with a limited number of pieces. The supplied package includes Stockfish and Leela Chess Zero engines. SCID is useful to players, coaches, and researchers who want to explore game collections, review positions, or examine opening and player patterns. Its database, engine analysis, reports, online play, and tablebase features bring several forms of chess study into one application.
