About Sentry
Sentry applies selected security policies to an Android device. It can limit the number of failed password attempts, notify when a password attempt fails, disable USB data connections on supported configurations, and disable safe boot on supported versions when configured as a device owner. It can also notify when an app that previously lacked internet permission receives that permission after an update. The available controls depend on Android and device-management requirements. Disabling USB data connections is listed for Android 12 with USB HAL 1.3 and device-owner status; disabling safe boot is listed for Android 7 with device-owner status. Limiting failed password attempts requires device-administrator access. Notification monitoring and package-change monitoring use additional permissions. Sentry may not work in safe mode. It is a policy-enforcement utility whose functions rely on privileged device-management roles and supported system versions; the listed actions are not available under every device configuration.
