About Share via HTTP
Share via HTTP adds a file-sharing action to Android’s share menu. When a user shares one or more files through it, the app starts a small web server on the phone and presents a link that recipients can use to download the shared content. If multiple files are selected, the app creates a ZIP archive for the transfer. The server can be stopped from the screen showing the link. Recipients need network access to the phone. Over Wi-Fi, the description says this is intended for people on the same local network; mobile-data connections may allow access over a wider network, but can be slower. A QR code can also be generated when a compatible barcode-scanning app is installed. Share via HTTP is a temporary direct-transfer tool: it serves selected files from the phone rather than uploading them to a cloud service. The product does not appear as a regular app launcher entry; its function is available through the system share menu.
