About SmartFind
SmartFind helps locate a phone by sounding an alarm when it receives an SMS containing a chosen keyword from a designated trusted contact. The alarm can sound even when the phone is set to silent or Do Not Disturb. Users choose the allowed contacts and a custom trigger word, with a default keyword provided. Settings changes require fingerprint or PIN authentication. Contacts and configuration are stored locally with Android Keystore protection, and a configurable cooldown helps prevent repeated alarm triggers. SMS-origin checks are used to detect spoofing, and an audit log records alarm events while redacting phone numbers. An optional device-admin feature can make the app harder to uninstall, and behavior can adapt to battery-saver mode. SmartFind works offline, without internet connections, cloud services, analytics, or tracking. It is intended as a way for a trusted person to make a misplaced phone ring by sending a prepared text message. Its core behavior depends on SMS access and the user’s designated contacts and keyword settings.
