About SMS to URL Forwarder
SMS to URL Forwarder sends incoming text messages to a web address chosen by the user. A rule can match messages by sender name or number, or use a wildcard to forward any sender. When a matching SMS arrives, the app makes a request to the specified URL with the message information. The app retries delivery if the server returns an unsuccessful response or the network request fails. It makes up to ten attempts, beginning after ten seconds and increasing the wait between later attempts. If the phone is offline, it waits for connectivity before retrying. Additional controls can match sender names with regular expressions, filter by message text, sign requests with HMAC-SHA-256, retain failed deliveries for manual retry, and send periodic heartbeat requests. Forwarding can also target a local-network endpoint without internet access. Rules can be backed up and restored as a JSON file. SMS to URL Forwarder is intended for users who need incoming texts delivered to an endpoint they control, with filters and retry handling for reliability. Because messages are sent to the configured URL, users need to choose an endpoint that is appropriate for the contents of the texts. The app does not describe a built-in web service or message viewer.
