Snowflake Dobrovolník lets a device act as a volunteer proxy that helps people in places where access to Tor is blocked. It routes a connection from a censored network through a volunteer proxy in an uncensored location, using WebRTC technology to make the connection resemble an ordinary voice or video call. The app is for providing this relay service; it does not itself let its user bypass censorship. Someone seeking to access Tor needs a separate Tor-enabled app configured to use Snowflake. Snowflake is designed so the volunteer proxy does not see which websites the person is visiting. The remote user’s visible browsing address is the Tor exit node rather than the volunteer’s address.
