About Webthingify
Webthingify turns an Android phone into a web-accessible device for an Internet of Things gateway. It runs a web server and exposes phone sensors and controls as a web thing. Supported data includes temperature, humidity, pressure, brightness, proximity, motion, and power information. The app can also provide camera pictures, flashlight control, and vibration. A foreground service refreshes the exposed data while the app is running. Webthingify is intended for connecting phone sensors and simple controls to a compatible IoT gateway or automation system. The product information does not detail authentication, network security, supported sensor hardware, or refresh intervals. Its role is to bridge Android device capabilities to a web-based IoT interface, rather than to provide a full home-automation controller.
