About WolLight
WolLight sends Wake-on-LAN packets to wake computers on the same local network. Users can save frequently used devices with a name, MAC address, broadcast address, and port. A LAN scan can find reachable hosts, while per-device status indicators use ping results to show whether a computer appears online. The app can send a series of pings and display individual responses, and it can attempt to recover a device’s updated local IP address by scanning for its registered MAC address. A changed address is saved only after the user confirms it. Device details are stored locally, and network traffic stays on the local network. WolLight requires Android 8.0 or later and a Wi-Fi connection. It can wake only devices reachable on the same LAN; the app does not provide remote access over the internet. The target computer must already support and be configured for Wake-on-LAN, and UDP delivery cannot be confirmed, so users can check whether the machine has started with ping.
