About α-Remote
α-Remote provides Bluetooth controls for compatible Alpha cameras. The controls appear in an Android notification when the camera is connected and disappear when the camera is turned off. Android manages the companion-device connection, so the app does not continually scan for cameras or keep a control screen open when it is not needed. The app is free and open source. It has been tested with a range of camera models that support Bluetooth remote control, though compatibility depends on the specific camera. α-Remote provides quick access to camera controls from the notification area while limiting background activity to the period when the camera is available.
