About برنامج جنو لمعالجة الصور
برنامج جنو لمعالجة الصور (GIMP) is an image editor for creating and modifying graphics. It supports photo retouching, image composition, painting, and image authoring, and can also be used for batch processing and converting image formats. The application can be extended with plug-ins and extensions, and its scripting interface can automate tasks ranging from simple edits to more complex image-processing procedures. GIMP’s layer-based workflow supports different kinds of content, including vector and linked layers. These allow parts of an image to remain distinct while a project is being assembled. Text, vector, and linked layers must be rasterized before direct pixel editing, which means converting them into a pixel-based layer for that kind of modification. The editor also includes tools for painting, text, masks, transforms, and color analysis, with additional options for brushes and effects. The application works with a wide range of image and document formats. It can import formats such as APNG, OpenEXR, TIFF, and PSD, and export formats including PDF and JPEG 2000. Vector layers can be exported as paths in PDF output. Other capabilities include support for version 2 paint brushes, stylus barrel rotation with compatible hardware, and a paint mode that overwrites existing pixels. Histogram views can calculate unique-color counts, and the CMYK color selector reports total ink coverage. GIMP can also load curve and level adjustment files into the corresponding tools, giving users additional ways to inspect and refine images. GIMP is suited to users who need an adaptable image-editing environment that can be kept simple for basic painting or expanded for more involved manipulation and automated workflows. Its plug-in and scripting support lets users add specialized operations, while layers and broad format support help manage projects that combine different types of visual content.
