About Argus

Argus is an Android automation app where a language model helps turn plain-language requests into structured rules, while a deterministic engine executes the approved rules. A user can describe a desired automation; the app converts it into typed triggers, conditions, and actions, displays that structure for review, and assigns a stable fingerprint to the executable data. The model is not part of ordinary rule execution except for actions explicitly marked as generative. Rules can use system alarms, receivers, geofences, and notification events. Runs are logged locally without personal content. API keys and rules are stored encrypted on the phone, and the app has no Argus-operated backend, account, telemetry, or analytics. A language-model connection is optional and can use a provider chosen by the user or a self-hosted bridge. Basic automation works without elevated privileges; system-level actions can use Shizuku. Argus supports English and Italian and is free software under GPL version 3. Its design separates rule creation from execution: the model helps compile a request, while the reviewed rule is what the engine runs.
