About AwayDoomscrollin'

AwayDoomscrollin’ is an Android accessibility app that interrupts scrolling through short-form video feeds. It can cover recognized content in supported social apps, including home and explore feeds, and perform a Back action when a protected short-video viewer is detected. Users can turn protection off in the app or Android accessibility settings, and a local streak tracker records focus streaks and intervention counts. The app is in beta, and detection depends on accessibility information exposed by other apps and Android. Interface changes or device differences can cause missed detections or false positives. It is designed to keep messaging, profiles, stories, search, and ordinary long-form videos available while covering some media grids and short-form content. Protection decisions run on-device. Optional usage-data sharing is off by default and requires explicit confirmation; when enabled, it sends device and app version information, intervention counts, and accumulated protection time. Local streak days and XP are not sent. AwayDoomscrollin’ is an independent project and is not affiliated with the supported social apps.
