Kai 9000 is an AI assistant that combines text and voice chat with generated interactive screens. In addition to written responses, it can create tappable interfaces such as forms, tables, charts, calculators, quizzes, dashboards, and task lists. A separate full-screen mode presents these generated controls as an app-like interface. The assistant can retain conversation memories and use a configurable personality profile. A scheduled “heartbeat” can check pending tasks during selected hours and surface items that need attention. The app also offers tools for web search, email, terminal commands, scheduled tasks, calendar events, notifications, text-to-speech, location and time context, and external tool servers. Kai 9000 connects to multiple hosted AI providers or to compatible local model services, including local operation. The selected provider handles API requests, while the app describes chat history as encrypted and stored locally. Features that act on email, shell commands, calendars, or external tools depend on the permissions and services the user configures; generated actions and content should be reviewed before use.
