About Message487

Message487 forwards new incoming SMS messages and selected Android notifications to an HTTPS endpoint that the user supplies. For SMS forwarding, it sends the message text, sender, and time to a webhook workflow. This transfer is one way: the app does not import earlier SMS history, send messages, or provide a two-way inbox. SMS capture requires the receive-SMS permission and must be enabled in the app. Notification access is not needed for SMS forwarding, and Android notification content may be hidden by the system. The app also lets users select which apps can forward notifications, authenticate requests with a bearer token, and optionally require an acknowledgement from the receiving service. Events are kept in an encrypted local outbox, with status, retry, delete, and pause controls for queued deliveries. Temporary failures can be retried, so repeated requests may create duplicates; the receiving server can use event identifiers for deduplication. Message487 requires the user to provide and configure an HTTPS receiver and token; it does not include a hosted inbox. Its journal reports delivery status rather than storing message contents for viewing. Forwarding is off by default. The endpoint and any downstream services receive the forwarded content and determine their own retention. The app also includes local diagnostics, optional report sharing, light and dark themes, and English and Russian interfaces.
