About Presence Publisher

Presence Publisher sends a configurable message to an MQTT topic when the phone connects to a chosen Wi-Fi network or comes near a Bluetooth beacon. This can connect phone presence to a home-automation system. It checks on a schedule and reacts to network changes, and can continue operating while the phone is in standby. The MQTT client supports anonymous access, username and password authentication, and client certificates. Users choose the server that receives the messages; the app states that it does not send data to other servers. Permissions are needed to detect Wi-Fi networks or Bluetooth beacons, with the exact requirements depending on the Android version. Presence Publisher links phone location or proximity conditions to automation events through MQTT.
