About RPClient
RPClient is an Android app for AI-assisted roleplay chats and story writing. Users can create and manage characters, import character cards in JSON or PNG format, and organize reference material in lorebooks. Chats can be one-on-one or involve groups of characters. The app supports prompts, character settings, greetings, and story context, and can regenerate, continue, or stop a reply. Long-running stories can use summary memory, and the user can generate from their own perspective. Story Studio organizes writing into volumes and chapters and supports continuation prompts. Stories can be backed up and shared as .rpstory archives, while chat histories can be imported or exported in JSONL format. Characters can use independent models for replies and summaries. The app can show a model’s reasoning output during generation. RPClient does not include a model service. Users must configure an external compatible provider and supply any required credentials; prompts and generation requests go to the selected provider. Stories, chats, characters, and settings are stored on the device by default. The app is a client for services the user chooses, and the provider handles the submitted requests.
