About SwiftSlate
SwiftSlate is an Android text assistant that transforms text from within other apps. Users can type a trigger such as a grammar-fix or translation command, and the transformed text replaces the original inline. It can also be launched from the text-selection menu without enabling its accessibility service. Built-in commands cover spelling and grammar, clarity, shortening, expansion, tone, emoji, replies, translation, and clipboard actions. Users can create custom commands as well. AI-based commands can use a selected online provider or a compatible local model endpoint. Those commands require an API key or configured endpoint; text-replacement commands such as snippets work offline without a key. The app supports rotation among multiple keys if rate limits are reached, and stores API keys encrypted through Android Keystore. Accessibility permission enables system-wide triggers, while text-selection actions provide an alternative interaction path. SwiftSlate includes light and AMOLED dark themes and is localized in many languages. It has no analytics, tracking, or telemetry according to its description. The app’s main benefit is reducing copy-and-paste steps for common text edits, while the choice of provider determines where AI requests are processed.
