About Voice Notify
Voice Notify reads notification text aloud using text-to-speech. Users can customize the spoken message, ignore selected apps or notifications containing chosen text, and select when speech should happen based on screen state, headset use, or silent and vibrate modes. A quiet-time schedule, shake-to-silence control, and configurable delay provide additional control over when announcements occur. The app uses Android’s accessibility service to read notification text and pass it to the text-to-speech engine. Notification text is also kept temporarily in memory for the notification log. The speech engine is outside the app’s control and may write spoken text to Android’s system log, according to the product description. Voice Notify is intended for users who want to hear notification contents without looking at the screen. Accessibility access must be enabled for it to work. Its settings let users choose which notifications are announced and adjust the timing and conditions for speech.
