About whoBIRD
whoBIRD identifies bird species from their vocalizations. It analyzes recorded bird sounds on the device and compares them with a database covering more than 6,000 species worldwide. Because recognition runs offline, the app can be used in places without an internet connection, such as during a walk in a remote area. The app is designed for birdwatchers and anyone who wants to identify a bird by its call. It requires Android 9 or later. whoBIRD combines sound-based recognition with a broad species collection, providing an on-device way to investigate bird calls while outdoors. This makes it a field reference for identifying calls as they are heard.
