About 1Key Password Manager
1Key Password Manager is an Android app for storing passwords and other sensitive account details in an encrypted vault kept on the device. It works offline and has no account or network connection. The vault is unlocked with a master password, with optional PIN or biometric access, and it can automatically lock after a chosen period of time or inactivity. Biometric unlock must first be enabled with confirmation of the master password. Entries can include a title, username, password, URL, notes, and custom fields. Tags, favorites, and full-text search help organize and retrieve credentials. Notes can display Markdown formatting, and a recycle bin and credential history provide ways to recover deleted entries or review older values. One-time password codes for two-factor authentication can be stored with the related login, allowing both pieces of information to be accessed from the same entry. The app also provides Android’s system Autofill Service, which can fill login details into apps and browsers. Matching uses the website URL by default rather than broad fuzzy suggestions. When saving a login, the app can prompt on submission and ask for confirmation before saving a credential for a different host. These choices are intended to keep filling tied to the relevant site. For portability, 1Key can create an encrypted backup file or export credentials as CSV or JSON. It can import data from several common password managers and browser keychains, detecting the input format automatically. Backup files are saved to a location the user chooses; there is no automatic cloud sync. The vault’s encryption uses a key derived from the master password, and the app offers an optional additional secret key. Its stated offline design means the user is responsible for keeping and moving backups, since the app does not provide a server-side recovery or synchronization service.
