About Aegis Authenticator
Aegis Authenticator stores and generates two-step verification codes using HOTP and TOTP, two widely supported algorithms. Entries can be added by scanning a QR code or image, entering details manually, or importing from other authenticator apps. The vault can be searched by account or service name, sorted, grouped, and given custom icons. A password can encrypt the vault, and biometric unlock is available on supported devices. Screen capture prevention and tap-to-reveal controls help limit accidental exposure of codes. Users can create manual exports or automatic backups to a chosen storage location, including compatible cloud providers. Exports can be encrypted or plaintext. Aegis is open source and supports migration from many other authenticators, though root access is required to import from apps that do not provide an export option. It is suited to managing multiple verification tokens in an organized vault.
