About 5G Proxy Client
5G Proxy Client routes Android device traffic through a remote SOCKS5 server using a TUN interface, without root access. It can tunnel TCP connections and relay UDP, DNS, and QUIC traffic. IPv4 and IPv6 are supported, and remote DNS can send app queries through the proxy exit instead of resolving them locally. Users can choose global routing, an allowlist of apps, or an exclusion list. Multiple connection profiles can be managed and exported or imported through JSON text. The client can reconnect after a dropped connection with exponential backoff, start at boot, and be toggled from a Quick Settings tile. A persistent notification shows live upload and download totals and session counts. Users can configure primary and secondary DNS servers. The app uses a native C networking engine with a Kotlin interface. When the tunnel is active, it resolves the proxy server’s hostname outside the tunnel so the connection can follow address changes; this lookup uses the underlying network’s DNS and can fall back to configured DNS servers. With remote DNS enabled, app queries are relayed to the proxy server. These DNS behaviors are useful to understand when configuring the tunnel. 5G Proxy Client is intended for users with access to a remote SOCKS5 server. It manages device traffic through that server but does not provide the server itself.
