About AgePony: Encrypt & Sign
AgePony encrypts files and text messages and lets users sign files so recipients can check their origin. It uses the age encryption format and supports both public-key and passphrase-based encryption. Key pairs can be generated and stored in an app vault, with access protected by a biometric, password, or PIN. The app can also sign and verify files using SSH keys, including hardware or NFC security keys, and maintain a trusted-signer list. AgePony supports both classic and hybrid key types and can migrate older encrypted files in batches, keeping originals until the replacement has been verified. It can encrypt and sign in one operation, and recipients can use compatible age tools to handle files. Most processing is described as happening on the device; importing a recipient key from an online account is an optional network action. The app also offers an optional duress password that wipes its vault. These are product-described capabilities, not an independent assessment of cryptographic strength.
