androidcrypt opens and creates VeraCrypt encrypted containers on Android devices. Existing containers can be accessed from a phone or tablet without converting them, and new containers can be created on the device. The app supports several encryption algorithms, including AES, Serpent, and Twofish, as well as cascaded combinations. It uses XTS mode for disk encryption and offers multiple password-derivation hash options. Users can browse files within a container, copy files between the device and an encrypted volume, create folders, and copy between mounted containers. Multiple containers can be mounted at once. New containers use FAT32 formatting for cross-platform access. The app is described as offline and as not collecting data. androidcrypt is suited to people who need to work with compatible encrypted volumes from Android while keeping files in the container format used on desktop systems.
