About Calyx VPN
Calyx VPN routes network traffic through a VPN service and encrypts the connection between the device and the VPN. The service requires no user account and states that it keeps no logs. When connected, websites see an address from the VPN service rather than the device’s network address. An optional bridges setting can disguise VPN traffic as ordinary web traffic to help with networks that block VPN connections. The app also states that DNS requests are handled through the VPN. IPv6 leak protection is listed for rooted devices. These are network protections while the VPN is active; the description notes that a VPN does not protect content stored on the device or information given directly to websites, and does not generally remove app or browser ads and trackers. Calyx VPN is a free, open-source client and service. It protects traffic in transit through its VPN route but does not control what websites or apps do with information after it reaches them.
