About Monica F-Droid

Monica is a local-first password manager for storing and autofilling sensitive information on Android. Its vault can hold passwords, secure notes, payment cards, identity documents, billing addresses, Wi-Fi details, and SSH keys. A password generator and strength analysis help create and review credentials, while entry history, snapshots, and a recycle bin support managing changes and removed items. The app includes a TOTP/HOTP authenticator for one-time codes, with a two-column code display and a popup that can appear after autofill. It can fill credentials through Android’s system autofill service or a dedicated keyboard, and supports passkeys as a provider on Android 14 and later. Biometrics can be used to unlock the vault. The camera is used for QR scanning. Monica supports encrypted backups and synchronization through WebDAV, as well as local backups and import or sync from compatible password databases. It can read and write KeePass-format databases. The password vault is encrypted using a master password and Android Keystore support, according to the product description. Plain HTTP WebDAV is blocked by default and requires an explicit opt-in. This build omits some cloud-sync and SMS autofill functions that depend on proprietary system services. The app is described as having no analytics, tracking, or ads. Its broad storage and autofill features make it a central place for credentials and related private records, with sync behavior depending on the chosen server.
