About mqvpn
mqvpn is a multipath VPN client that can combine Wi-Fi and cellular connections for increased bandwidth or continued connectivity when one path fails. It routes device traffic through a tunnel using Android’s VPN service and supports the standards-based MASQUE CONNECT-IP protocol over Multipath QUIC. The app uses pre-shared-key authentication over TLS 1.3. A self-hosted mqvpn server is required, and users configure which server receives their traffic. Android asks for permission before the first VPN connection. The app states that it contains no analytics or telemetry and sends traffic only to the configured server. mqvpn is therefore a client for users who operate or have access to a compatible server, rather than a ready-made VPN subscription.
