About NewPass
NewPass is a local password manager with a built-in password generator. Generated passwords can be customized by length and by character set, including uppercase letters, numbers, and special characters. Saved passwords can be viewed, copied to the clipboard, or shared to other apps. The app encrypts individual password entries and its local database. On first launch, users choose an encryption key that is requested again when the app opens. Passwords are not stored on an external server, and the app’s description says they are kept only on the device. NewPass has an important limitation: uninstalling the app deletes its stored passwords, so users need a separate backup before removing it or changing devices. The evidence does not describe export or synchronization features. The encryption protects local storage according to the product description, but the user remains responsible for preserving the key and preventing copied passwords from being exposed through the clipboard or receiving app.
