About Nighthawk Wallet
Nighthawk Wallet is a light cryptocurrency wallet for sending and receiving shielded transactions. Shielded transfers are the default, and automatic shielding can move funds from transparent addresses into the shielded pool. The wallet supports transaction memos and optional transparent addresses, with a six-digit PIN and biometric unlock options available to protect access to the app. Nighthawk is self-custody: users are responsible for backing up their seed words. The app can create a password-protected PDF containing seed words for storage. It can also exchange funds through optional swap services and supports optional domain-name resolution for transactions. These connected features are separate from the wallet’s core send and receive functions. As a light wallet, Nighthawk relies on a lightwalletd server to display accurate transaction information. The server is not operated by the wallet project, and the supplied description says privacy of communication and transaction broadcasting cannot be guaranteed. This limitation matters when choosing whether and how to use the wallet. The app is provided without warranty.
