About PaperCript

PaperCript stores passwords as encrypted QR codes that can be printed on paper. Users encrypt a password with a master password, generate a QR card, and print cards on an A4 sheet. To recover a password, they scan its card and enter the same master password. The app does not keep the password, master password, or history locally. The app uses a key-derivation function and authenticated encryption according to its description, and includes a password generator. It has no network permission and cannot open a network connection. Screenshots are blocked, and sensitive clipboard contents are cleared automatically. PaperCript is intended for people who want an offline, physical backup format for credentials. The printed QR card is encrypted, but access still depends on remembering and protecting the master password. Losing both the paper and master password can make the stored password unrecoverable, so users should consider how they will preserve the cards and master secret.
