About Passman

Passman is an Android client for managing credentials stored in a compatible Passman password vault on a Nextcloud server. After setting up the server connection or using single sign-on, users can view, add, rename, and delete vaults, then open a vault to browse and edit credentials. The app also supports attaching files to credentials, generating one-time passwords, and filling basic Android login forms. A password generator is included for creating new credentials. Vault and connection passwords can be stored encrypted, and an encrypted offline cache lets users access cached information when the server is not reachable. The app can add, download, and delete files associated with the vault, while common credential operations include viewing, adding, editing, and deleting entries. An optional app-start password can use Android user authentication. Passman requires a compatible Nextcloud server with the Passman application installed; it is not a standalone password manager or hosted vault. The description specifies compatibility with Passman version 2.x or higher. Users therefore need an existing server and account, and availability of synced data depends on that server. The app is useful for people who already keep credentials in a self-hosted Passman vault and want access from Android, with basic autofill, OTP generation, and an encrypted local cache. It complements the server-based vault rather than replacing the service that stores and synchronizes credentials.
