About Proxy Exit

Proxy Exit lets a desktop browser use an Android phone’s mobile data connection through a separately configured proxy server. The phone app connects to that server and provides an exit route: browser requests reach the server, are relayed to the phone, and are fetched through the phone’s mobile connection before being returned to the browser. The setup involves three parts: an externally reachable proxy server, the Android app, and a browser configured to use the proxy. Users enter the server address and access code in the app, and the phone must remain in the foreground while the connection is in use. If the server connection drops, the app retries periodically. Proxy Exit is not itself a proxy server and does not configure a proxy directly on the phone. It is a component for routing desktop browser traffic through the phone’s mobile network, and it depends on the separate server and browser configuration. The supplied information does not describe encryption between each component, so users should account for the security of their server and connection setup.
