About SecureYourChats
SecureYourChats encrypts and decrypts text and files using a choice of algorithms: AES, DES, Camellia, ChaCha20-Poly1305, XChaCha20-Poly1305, or Aegis256. Users can generate random 256-bit keys, manage saved keys, and share or import a key through a QR code. The key manager stores keys using Android’s encrypted preferences. Files can be selected from device storage, processed with a chosen algorithm and key, and saved to an output folder. The app can receive text or files from other apps through Android’s share action, then open a guided flow to choose encryption or decryption, select a cipher, and provide a key. An optional Accessibility Service can detect selected or copied text and display a notification offering the same workflow. This behavior can be paused from within the app without disabling the service in Android settings. SecureYourChats is a utility for applying encryption to content before sharing or storing it. Its security depends on choosing an appropriate algorithm, protecting keys, and communicating those keys safely; sharing a key through a QR code does not by itself secure the channel used to share it. The optional accessibility feature requires notification permission on newer Android versions to display prompts.
