About Socks5 Proxy
Socks5 Proxy routes Android network traffic through an encrypted SSH connection to a server chosen by the user. It uses Android’s VPN framework to create a local network interface and capture outgoing IPv4 traffic, so apps can use the tunnel without individual configuration. No root access is required. A persistent notification shows connection state and current data usage. For narrower routing, the app also provides a local SOCKS5 proxy that individual apps can use without enabling the system-wide VPN. Users can create multiple connection profiles and authenticate with a password or SSH key. Supported key types include RSA, ECDSA, and Ed25519. The app verifies and caches SSH host keys, and it can reconnect automatically with a configurable keep-alive interval. DNS requests from the VPN interface are resolved through the encrypted tunnel over TCP. An interactive terminal can open multiple shell sessions on the remote server, with support for resizing the terminal. This allows server administration and command execution from the app. SSH keys are encrypted using Android Keystore, with hardware-backed storage where available; passwords and key passphrases are stored in encrypted preferences. Optional boot start can bring the VPN up when the device starts. The app requires Android 7.0 or later and an SSH server the user controls or trusts, configured to permit TCP forwarding. It can display live upload and download counters and connection information in its notification and main screen. The product is intended for system-wide or per-app tunneling through a user-selected SSH server, as well as terminal access to that server.
