About SQRL Login
SQRL Login implements SQRL sign-in on Android. Instead of entering an email address and password on each website, a user creates a private identity that the app uses to derive a different identity for each site. Returning to a site generates the same site-specific identity again, while other sites receive different identifiers. This lets a user sign in without giving each site a conventional email address or password. The private identity is described as a long random number that should be created before using SQRL sign-in. The product’s design relies on cryptographic operations to produce site-specific identities and to prevent a stolen site identity from being reused to impersonate the user elsewhere. SQRL Login therefore serves as the Android component for websites that support the SQRL protocol; it does not replace the need for a website to offer SQRL sign-in.
