About VaultPony

VaultPony creates and opens encrypted file containers on Android. A container is a single file that holds a private filesystem and is unlocked with a password. The format is compatible with VeraCrypt, allowing a vault to be opened on Android and on desktop systems that support the same format. Users choose a cipher, hash function, and filesystem when creating a container; the listed filesystem choices are FAT and exFAT, and Argon2id is available as a hash option. The app supports hidden volumes, which place a second vault inside an outer one. The outer volume can be write-protected to reduce the chance that ordinary use overwrites hidden data. Other tools include header backup and recovery, changing a password in place, and using keyfiles. Biometric unlock is available, along with automatic locking when the app leaves the foreground. A hidden-screen mode blocks screenshots, and a no-trace mode avoids remembering activity. VaultPony does not use an account, cloud service, or network connection; vaults remain ordinary files wherever the user chooses to keep them. That gives users control over storage location but also means they are responsible for preserving the container and any needed credentials or backups. The app is available in English, German, Spanish, French, Russian, and Brazilian Portuguese, with in-app language switching. VaultPony is free, open-source software built around a shared Rust core. It is intended for people who need portable encrypted filesystems and want to use the same containers on Android and desktop systems.
