About Wallet
Wallet is an offline vault for payment, loyalty, and identity cards, plus digital passes and tickets. Users can add card details, images of physical cards, and custom fields. Tap-to-copy controls make stored details easier to use, and the app can detect a card network automatically. Passes in the .pkpass format can be imported, allowing tickets and coupons to be kept alongside other wallet items. The vault is encrypted on the device using AES-256-GCM, with a key derived through Argon2id and a master key held in Android’s hardware-backed keystore. Fingerprint or face authentication can protect access, and authentication is required when opening the app and before destructive actions such as restoring a backup or deleting data. Front and back images of physical cards can also be stored in encrypted form. Wallet can create encrypted backup files that include the vault, passes, and settings. Users can share a pass or loyalty card through an end-to-end encrypted QR code that can only be decrypted by another instance of the app. The app has no internet permission, so data stays on the device unless the user intentionally exports or transfers it. Its purpose is to keep card and pass information available offline while requiring the user to manage backups and device access.
